First Yoga steps..

..can sometimes be a failure!

In my 20s, I tried to join a yoga class in my gym, but I left after 10 minutes. I didn’t understand what was going on in the class. At that point of time, I craved movement, energy, something dynamic and yoga felt just too slow and too unfamiliar for me.
I tried again sometime later for about 4 or 5 months, but I couldn’t stick to the practice, either.

It wasn’t until the third time, years later, that I made a decision: I want to commit for myself – just once a week, no matter what. And I am so happy I did, because something ‘clicked’ then and it lasts already more than 5 years now. I am still practicing!

Slowly but surely, something shifted for me there. I really started to feel the impact – not just physically, but also on emotional level. The practice began to soften me, teach me patience and also strengthen me at the same time. And little by little, I fell in love with it so much that I just continued. And I am so happy that I did not stop there.

Looking back, I am so grateful I didn’t give up to try. Without those first uncertain steps, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Sometimes, yoga doesn’t click right away, and that’s okay. It meets you where you are – again and again, until you’re ready to receive it. 💛
